Haikus
1. It thwarts frozen hearts
Burns down forests of desire
A heart breathing fire
2. Fly away with me
To become one with the wind
Birds have no limits
3. Time is like the wind
Both, a storm that wrecks and the
Only panacea
4. Ignorance balks what
Love can mend in ways untold
Why can’t you see?
5. Amuses and aches
It stays and then evades
Vagary of being
6. Perched on a branch,
Rested a moment, then flew
On adventure new
7. Bright, significant
Hopes for precocious girls
Those born to rebel
8. Looking on to the sea
Contemplating a dive, but
The bedrock is home
9. Astray in the woods
Where do I belong? I see
Daylight sent for me
10. Shattering tempest
I am learning to live with,
Rainbows are worth it
11. Zero hours on the clock
Quietude on the shelves echos
Nowhere else I’d be
12. Kaleidoscope—
Snow alike or asunder
Flakes ask in wonder
13. Still footsteps at the shore
Listen to the ocean roar
Walk back home wiser
14. Tremors on skin die
When your hand grazes mine
Fleetingly I’m home
15. Lonesome candle burns
As friend of the dark; Who is
hope without despair
16. Raindrops scatter away,
Smiles and joy spreads among us all
Monsoon is magic
17. Chaos in the night
Loud thoughts rage inside my mind
Can’t hear them, can you?
18. Do I remember?
Or will I ever forget?
I ask the embers
19. Horizon awaits,
In the mirror, shadows linger—
Seeking out for you
20. After it blooms, and
before it falls, the flower
takes a solemn drift.
21. I opened the door
Set a foot out in the world
It is a new day
22. The more I gave to
the world, the more it echoed—
Smile, smile, smile
23. Once a river flowed
Saw the rocks watch by; wondered
What stillness is like
24. Forgotten, sodden
The driftwood caught pity
It’s journey unknown
25. Shining and alluring
I once saw a box spellbound;
Alas it was hollow.
